18th May 2020
Hi 6th class!!
We hope you had a nice weekend and everyone is staying safe, huge thank you to everyone that contributed work for inclusion in the newsletter. A huge number of you were entered into the draw on Friday so well done and keep up the great work. On Wednesday of this week there will be a pack of work that will be ready for collection. The pack will include activities until mid-June, as per usual there will be a timetable and a suggested scheme of work which might make it easier to work from home. There is no pressure to do any of it and we hope nobody is feeling anxious about schoolwork. If you do attempt it we'd love to see some photos on SeeSaw!!
The volume of work being posted is very impressive and many of you are working away diligently so below we have only included work for Monday and Tuesday, once you get a pack on Wednesday there should be plenty to do.
As we will be in the building this week to organise packs we would love to include a novel from the library collection. If there is a novel you wish to read please let us know on SeeSaw and we'll do our best to find them (Please include a few options as we might be unable to find the exact book you'd like).
Just a final reminder that we have a Zoom meeting at 11am on Monday 18th May so we'll see you all soon.
We hope everyone has a great week!

DEAR time

English work:
For Monday and Tuesday I would like you to concentrate on creative writing. Your story should be at least two copybook pages long. I want to see your plan, show me your plan with a beginning, middle, end, or else show me a brainstorm. I want you to use descriptive words and instead of writing “said” use some other verbs – roared, whispered, screamed, suggested, etc.
Pick one of the following to start a story.
- The plane started to descend quickly, there was no time to waste....
- For the first time I noticed a door leading down to a cellar in my house....
- “Well,” said my friend to me, “we are definitely stuck on this desert island.”
